Archaeological Survey
For 40 years, PAL has provided in-depth survey, evaluation, and data recovery services.
We specialize in identifying and evaluating important archaeological and cultural resources. We offer expertise in the documentation of all types of archaeological sites, ranging in age from 12,000 years to the last 50 years. Site types include campsites, processing sites, domestic homesteads, historic engineering structures, and industrial sites such as bridges, dams, mills, mining, and quarry sites.
Our HazMat-certified archaeologists are experienced in safely dealing with industrial sites, as well as contaminated sites containing archaeological resources.
Archaeological surveys often involve multiple phases. Our staff accommodates project schedules throughout the process, while guiding clients through regulatory requirements.
Identification & Evaluation
Through archaeological surveys we identify cultural resources that may be present in a project area. After defining a project and its potential effects, our team collects information about historic properties, including archaeological sites, structures, objects, and buildings.
If a project is likely to impact cultural resources, an evaluation survey may be undertaken.
Archaeological Data Recovery
Data recovery plans serve as an operational blueprint for excavation, scientific analysis, and reporting.
PAL has an unequaled record of successful archeological data recovery programs throughout the Northeast.
