Tim directs archival research, field assessment and excavation, data analyses, and report preparation for archaeological investigations.
He specializes in the history and archaeology of nineteenth-century American industrial development and processes, and early municipal water supply systems. Tim has conducted all phases of archaeological investigations and state-level documentation of engineering structures throughout the mid-Atlantic and in southern New England. He was a team member that received a 2017 Preservation Education Award from the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia for its 2016 publication, From Creek to Tap: The Brandywine and Wilmington’s Public Water System.
Tim received a BA in American Studies from Western Connecticut State University in 1998, an MA in American History from the University of Delaware’s Hagley Program in 2001, and an MS in Industrial Archaeology from Michigan Technological University in 2003. He is a Registered Professional Archaeologist, and is trained and certified in OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standards. Tim is a member of the Society for Industrial Archeology, for which he has served as Board Director and as Chair of the Nominations Committee. He is a past-president of the Archaeological Society of Delaware, and served as a Director on the Board of the New Castle (Delaware) Historical Society.
