Slobo is an archaeologist who manages multi-disciplinary projects involving cultural resources, preservation planning, and environmental review.
He prepares reports about all phases of archaeological investigations and relevant regulatory compliance documents. He has expertise in cultural resource management, forensic anthropology, federal Indian laws, and spatial analysis, and extensive experience in implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and related state and federal laws, including the National Environmental Policy Act, Federal Power Act, and the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.
Before joining PAL in 2023, Slobo was a historic preservation specialist at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the director of planning and development for the Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe in Washington, a principal investigator for cultural resource management projects, and an academic anthropologist. Before working in the United States, he worked on multi-year projects in the Middle East and the Balkans. Slobo holds an archaeology degree from the University of Belgrade, and an MA and PhD in Anthropology from The City University of New York Graduate Center and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist. He is a member of the American Anthropological Association and holds scuba diver certifications.
