Maureen serves as project manager for multi-disciplinary projects involving environmental review, planning, and cultural resources. She has special expertise in cultural resource management, historic preservation planning, and state and federal historic tax credits.
She prepares environmental analysis and regulatory compliance documents for review by the National Park Service, Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, state historical commissions, and local planning boards and historical commissions. Maureen has over 35 years of experience in implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Chapter 254 of the Massachusetts General Laws, and related state and federal environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines affecting historic resources, including the National Environmental Policy Act and Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Architectural Review at the Massachusetts Historical Commission. Maureen worked at PAL in the 1990s and rejoined the staff in 2018.
Maureen received her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Rochester and her MA in Urban Affairs from Boston University. In 2014, she was recognized for her contributions to historic rehabilitation projects with a Paul E. Tsongas Award from Preservation Massachusetts and in 2016 with the Niki & Paul Tsongas Award honoring women in historic preservation. She serves on several boards, including Preservation Massachusetts and the National Park Service Boston Harbor Islands Partnership, appointed by the Secretary of the Interior.
