As PAL’s Laboratory Analyst, Kate’s primary responsibilities are identifying and cataloging pre-contact and post-contact artifacts collected by PAL archaeologists during field investigations and conducting research and laboratory tests.

She is also skilled at artifact photography for inclusion in PAL documents. Kate manages PAL’s collections and supervises laboratory staff. She is responsible for equipment and supplies for the laboratory and archaeological fieldwork. 

Before joining PAL in 2008 as a field archaeologist, Kate worked at the Andrew Fiske Memorial Center for Archaeological Research at the University of Massachusetts in Boston and as an archaeologist for other New England cultural resource management firms. She received a BA in Cultural and Historic Preservation from Salve Regina University and an MA from the Historical Archaeology Program at University of Massachusetts Boston. She is trained and certified in OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standards.
