Erin has worked on all phases of archaeological investigation in New England, New York, and Pennsylvania for federal, state, and local agencies, and private clients.
Her focus is on pre-contact Native American occupation in the Northeast, with particular focus on paleoethnobotany and feature analysis of Archaic Period sites. She regularly gives presentations on her archaeological work to both professional and public audiences. Before joining PAL in 2001, she volunteered at the Robbins Museum of Archaeology operated by the Massachusetts Archaeological Society where one of her projects was an inventory of donated collections. She also volunteered with the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Program, an organization studying the cultural resources related to the state’s maritime history with underwater fieldwork. She is currently an instructor for the Scouting America archaeology badge.
She received her BS in Anthropology with concentrations in Public Archaeology and Cultural Anthropology from Bridgewater State College and her MS in Cultural Resources Management Archaeology from Saint Cloud State University. Erin is trained and certified in OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standards and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist and a member of the Society for American Archaeology.
